LITCHFIELD — A Clayville man was arrested after crashing into a Herkimer County Highway Department vehicle Thursday morning, resulting in four workers being injured, state police said.
At 8:16 a.m., Anthony Bonanza, 26, was headed north on Berberick Road when he struck the rear of the county vehicle, which was stopped on the eastern shoulder of the road conducting roadway maintenance with its amber emergency light activated, police said.
All four occupants of the county vehicle were transported to various hospitals for injuries that weren’t life threatening, officials said.
Bonanza was arraigned at the town of German Flatts Court for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and was released on his own recognizance, police said. He is scheduled to return to Litchfield Town Court Tuesday.
